Éva Katinka Bognár

Director, Animator, illustrator. Teacher at the MOMA, Budapest - Hungary

Éva Katinka Bognár is a director from Budapest, Hungary.
She graduated from the animation MA programme at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, and she is currently a teacher at the same department.
Her short film Hugo Bumfeldt went on to compete in numerous festivals and won awards including the Prize of the Children's Jury at the 62th Oberhausen International Short Film festival, and the Animated Short Jury Award at Austin Film Festival.
During her studies she participated in many workshops and events for animation professionals, such as Cartoon Springboard and the international Animation Sans Frontieres training programme.  In 2015. he won the Visegrad Animation Forum pitching competion with co-director Zsuzsanna Kreif, and recently she was member of the International Jury at the 10th Fest Anca, in Zilina, Slovakia.
During the previous years she directed four episodes of the Kortárs Gyermekversek és Dalok (Contemporary Children's Poems and Songs) - a series of poem adaptations aimed at children, comissioned by Hungarian Television.
She also works as a freelancer concept artist and a children's book illustrator, and she was  concept artist and character designer on Gelley Bálint's award winning Door to Othertown animated series. Besides directing, writing and developing animation films she is also deeply interested in interactive narratives and game design.
